Obverse description Facing right, the youthful laureate head of Apollo rendered in archaic Greek style, the deity's hair bound with a laurel wreath whose leaves are individually articulated. The portrait occupies the full flan, with strong relief despite the diminutive fabric typical of this fractional denomination. The facial features display the characteristic serene idealization of fifth-century Ionian coinage.

Reverse description A quadripartite incuse square dominating the reverse field, divided into four equal rectangular compartments by a raised cross-shaped partition, the alternating recessed sections creating a windmill or checker pattern characteristic of early Archaic Greek coinage. The incuse is deeply struck and geometrically regular, filling the available flan without inscription or additional device, consistent with early fifth-century Ionian minting practice.
