| Reverse description | Central device consists of a plain cross pattée set within a four-lobed quatrefoil frame, with a small floral or rosette ornament placed in each of the four cusps between the lobes. The entire central design is enclosed within a beaded inner border. The surrounding legend in Latin reads the honorary title of Conrad, King of the Romans, a traditional invocation retained on Genoese coinage long after the Hohenstaufen period as a mark of imperial legitimacy. A cross precedes the legend at the top of the die, and the inscription terminates with the abbreviation MP. |
