| Obverse description | Right-facing bare-headed bust of Henri II, depicted in cuirass with visible armour detailing at the shoulder and collar. The effigy is rendered in a bold, high-relief style characteristic of mid-16th century French hammered coinage. A pellet or point appears below the bust in the field, serving as a mint or engraver's mark. The circular legend in Latin reads HENRICVS II D G FRANC REX, running along the coin's border. The portrait displays the king's characteristic beard and flowing hair. |
