| Beschrijving keerzijde | Aniconic design mirroring the obverse in overall layout, with concentric circular bands of Kufic Arabic legend surrounding a central raised pellet. The inscription is arranged in two or more registers reading circularly, separated by raised fillets and an outer beaded or dotted border. The hammered flan exhibits the characteristic irregular roundness of South Italian gold coinage of this period. The style is imitative of Fatimid quarter-dinars, adapted for circulation within the Lombard principality of Salerno under Prince Gisulf I. |
