The script is rendered in a bold Naskh hand characteristic of Timurid mint production. The flan is irregularly shaped, as typical of hammered coinage of this period, with the inscription occasionally running off the edge of the planchet. The field is flat with no additional decorative elements, the legends occupying the full extent of the die area. |

| Popis rubu | Central field displays a multi-line Arabic legend within a circular inner cartouche, surrounded by a raised circular border, with a further marginal legend encircling the outer field. The central inscription bears the royal titulature of the issuing sovereign: 'al-Sultan al-A'zam Shah Rukh Bahadur Khan, may God perpetuate his reign,' rendered in bold Naskh script. The outer marginal legend contains the mint and date formula, reading 'Struck at Astarabad in the year [Hijri year].' The die is well-centred relative to the irregular flan, and the concentric border arrangement is consistent with Timurid tanka typology of the first half of the fifteenth century. Minor flat areas result from characteristic uneven striking pressure of hand-hammered production. |
