The mint name zarb Samarqand (struck at Samarqand) appears prominently in the center of the inscription field. The names of the four Rashidun caliphs (Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali) are distributed around the central motif, reflecting orthodox Sunni legitimacy claims. The entire composition is executed in bold raised Arabic script in the Naskh style, with the date appearing at the base of the inscription field. |
