The legend QVOT FOLIA arcs along the upper field and TOT CORDA appears divided across the center field to either side of the cypress trunk, while LVGENT is inscribed along the lower exergue, the complete motto translating as 'As many leaves, so many hearts mourn.' The design is enclosed within a plain inner border and a reeded outer rim, executed in a refined baroque engraving style. |
