Reverse description The reverse presents a multi-line Arabic inscription in fluid thuluth script filling the entire field, recording the mint name Baghdad and the regnal year 974 AH (1567 CE), consistent with standard Ottoman sultani reverse typology. The text is arranged in horizontal registers, the calligraphy exhibiting the characteristic bold strokes and tight interlacing of Ottoman hammered gold coinage. A beaded border encircles the legend, conforming to the irregular flan edge. The overall strike is typical of provincial Ottoman mint production, with some weakness at the margins.
