| Opis rewersu | Central field bears a monogram or arrangement of letters spelling the moneyer's name MONNE, disposed around a central vertical element, characteristic of the abbreviated moneyer signatures found on Northumbrian stycas. The letters are rendered in angular Roman capitals, somewhat crudely cut, and may be read in various orientations owing to the variable die alignment of this issue. A beaded border or dotted inner circle partially frames the design. The overall style is consistent with the degenerate engraving conventions of mid-period Northumbrian styca production. |
