| Description de l’avers | The entire field is occupied by the Latin provincial name HOLLANDIA inscribed in three horizontal lines across the coin, with the letters arranged in a bold, space-filling manner characteristic of Dutch provincial coinage. A small six-pointed rosette or asterisk ornament flanked by two pellets appears in the upper field above the inscription. The date is placed in the lower field below the final line of the legend, serving as the sole chronological indicator. The coin is encircled by a plain inner rim and a milled outer border. |

| Description du revers | A fasces-like bundle of seven bound arrows, the symbol of the Union of Utrecht and emblem of the Dutch Republic, occupies the central field, its shafts fanning upward and its binding clearly rendered. The denomination numeral '1' appears to the left of the bundle and the initial 'S' (for Stuiver) to the right, flanking the central device. The entire motif is encircled by a wreath of laurel or olive branches tied at the base, itself bordered by a milled outer rim. This characteristic arrow-bundle design gives the coin its popular name 'Bezemstuiver' (broom stuiver) among collectors. |
