| Obverse description | Diademed head of Alexander the Great facing right, his flowing hair rendered in fine curling locks with characteristic Hellenistic vivacity. The ram's horn of Ammon curls prominently above the ear, asserting divine lineage. A diadem is tied across the brow, its ends visible behind the head. The portrait displays the idealised physiognomy associated with posthumous Lysimachean coinage, with finely modelled facial features and a slightly parted lip. |
