Reverse description Nike (Victory) standing facing left in full figure, her large spread wings rising prominently behind her. She extends her left arm forward to present a laurel wreath, while her right arm is lowered at her side; she is clad in a chiton with finely engraved drapery folds. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically downward along the right field. In the lower left field appears the mint control letter Α, serving as a mint or magistrate symbol. The composition is characteristic of the standard Alexandrine gold stater type struck across the eastern Mediterranean during the late reign of Alexander III.
