| Descrizione del dritto | Helmeted head of Athena facing right in high relief, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head and adorned with a prominent upswept crest. The cheekpieces of the helmet are raised, revealing the goddess's finely rendered facial features with a strong profile. Elaborate curling locks of hair escape from beneath the helmet, cascading over the neck and behind the ear. The neck guard of the helmet is decorated with a serpent coil, and the goddess wears a beaded necklace visible at the throat. The overall style is characteristic of the refined Hellenistic engraving tradition associated with the Amphipolis mint. |
