She extends her right hand forward to present a wreath, while her left hand holds a stylis (ship's sternpost ornament), an allusion to naval supremacy. In the left field, a trident head pointing downward serves as a mint control symbol. A monogram appears beneath her left wing. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, denoting the coin's issue in the name of Alexander. The composition is elegant and well-centered, consistent with the high-quality die work of the Amphipolis mint during the post-Alexander period. |
