Reverse description Nike, the goddess of Victory, standing left in three-quarter pose, her wings partially spread behind her. She extends her right hand forward to hold a wreath, while her left hand grasps a stylis (naval standard or ship's sternpost ornament). In the left field, a Boeotian shield is depicted as a mint control symbol. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying the coin as issued in the name of Alexander. The composition reflects the refined Hellenistic die-cutting tradition of the Amphipolis mint.
