Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in fine relief characteristic of the Alexandrine coinage tradition. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet with a prominent upswept crest, the bowl decorated with a scrolled cheek-guard. Her flowing hair cascades in wavy locks beneath the helmet, and a pearl earring is visible at the ear. The portrait is boldly modelled with a strong classical profile, filling the flan with confident, high-relief workmanship typical of posthumous Macedonian stater production.

Reverse description Nike standing facing left in three-quarter pose, her wings spread behind her. In her outstretched right hand she holds a victor's wreath, while her left hand grasps a stylis (ship's stern ornament), an attribute alluding to naval supremacy. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field. To the left field appears a mint control monogram, and below the figure a scallop shell serves as a secondary mint control symbol specific to the Abydos issue.
