| Beschrijving voorzijde | Baaltars, the principal deity of Tarsus, seated facing in three-quarter view upon a throne, his upper body bare and muscular, draped from the waist in pleated garments. He holds a bunch of grapes in his extended right hand and a long sceptre or staff in his left; an eagle stands to his lower right. A small figure or animal appears beneath the throne. Aramaic inscription to the left of the figure reads B`LTRZ (Baaltars). The entire design is enclosed within a serrated or rope-pattern border. |
