| Beschrijving keerzijde | The satrap Tarkumuwa, known to the Greeks as Datames, is shown seated to right on a low seat, dressed in full Persian court attire including kandys and tiara, closely examining an arrow held in his extended left hand. The Aramaic legend TRDMW appears to the left of the figure, identifying the satrap. A bow is depicted to the right of the figure, and a winged solar disk occupies the upper right field, a motif of Achaemenid royal authority. The composition is rendered in the confident Persian court style characteristic of Cilician satrapal issues struck at Tarsus under Datames. |
