| Obverse description | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in high relief with naturalistic Hellenistic-influenced portraiture, the hair dressed in short, layered strands swept forward across the brow in the characteristic Augustan manner. The neck is truncated cleanly at the lower field. The surrounding field is plain, with the flan showing characteristic irregular hammered edges typical of Bosporan gold coinage of the early imperial period. |
