The hair is elaborately dressed with wavy locks falling behind the ear and bound by a royal diadem. The facial features are carefully modeled with a straight nose, well-defined jaw, and a calm, regal expression characteristic of Hellenistic dynastic portraiture. The portrait occupies the full field of the flan with no visible legend on the obverse. |

She extends her right hand forward bearing a laurel wreath and holds a long palm branch in her left hand. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΣΑΝΔΡΟΥ is disposed in the field, with the regnal year numeral Δ (year 4) completing the inscription, denoting the fourth year of Asander's reign. The composition references naval victory and royal authority. |
