| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet adorned with a large serpent coil and elaborate crest of feathers and palmette decoration. The goddess is depicted in a three-quarter profile with idealised classical features, her hair rendered in fine wavy locks falling beneath the helmet rim. The surface of the helmet is finely engraved, with the cheekpiece partially raised. The field is plain, with no legend or inscription, typical of the Alexandrine gold stater series. |

| Reverse description | Nike, the winged goddess of victory, stands facing left in a graceful contrapposto pose, her large spread wings rendered in fine detail behind her. In her outstretched right hand she holds a wreath, and in her left hand she carries a ship's stylis (sceptre). A stylised grain ear or palm branch appears in the left field, serving as a mint control mark. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically in the right field, and the mint control mark ΔΙ appears in the lower left exergual area, associated with the Memphis mint. |
