| Beschrijving voorzijde | Head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, the bowl of the helmet rendered with a smooth, rounded dome. Flowing locks of hair emerge beneath the helmet and cascade over the neck, with a small serpent or decorative element visible at the lower left of the neck. The facial features are rendered in fine Sicilian style, with a well-modelled profile exhibiting the characteristic naturalism of late Classical Greek coinage. The field is plain and uninscribed. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Pegasus, the winged horse, depicted in a prancing pose facing left, with large outstretched wings rising dramatically above the body and the forelegs raised. A six-pointed star or astral symbol appears in the upper left field above the head of Pegasus. The musculature of the horse is rendered with vigour and precision, reflecting the high artistic standards of Syracusan die engravers of the early Hellenistic period. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, consistent with hammered coinage of this era. The field is otherwise plain and without legend. |
