Obverse description Head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, the bowl of the helmet rendered with a smooth, rounded dome. Flowing locks of hair emerge beneath the helmet and cascade over the neck, with a small serpent or decorative element visible at the lower left of the neck. The facial features are rendered in fine Sicilian style, with a well-modelled profile exhibiting the characteristic naturalism of late Classical Greek coinage. The field is plain and uninscribed.
