Reverse description Incuse square divided by a prominent crescent or lunate symbol in high relief, with the ethnic legend MALION (MALICN) arranged around the design within a circular border. The letters are rendered in archaic Greek script and distributed across the field. The overall composition is characteristic of the transitional incuse style employed by smaller Aegean island mints in the late Classical period. The reverse die is slightly smaller than the flan, leaving irregular margins.
