| Obverse description | Eagle standing left with head turned to the right, rendered in bold high relief with carefully detailed plumage indicated by engraved feather lines across the wings and body. The bird is depicted perched, its powerful talons gripping an uneven ground line, conveying a sense of weight and naturalistic presence characteristic of early Archaic Greek coinage. The field is plain and unlettered, with the flan exhibiting the characteristic irregular contour of a hammered electrum issue. No legend appears; the type relies entirely on the imposing avian device as the civic emblem of Abydos. |

| Reverse description | Deep quadripartite incuse square subdivided by raised ridges into four recessed triangular compartments arranged around a central raised point, forming a windmill or skew pattern within the punch. The incuse is sharply struck with well-defined raised borders forming the outer square frame, characteristic of the early Archaic punched reverse technique employed throughout the Hellespont region during this period. The surface of the incuse sections shows the rough texture typical of hand-struck electrum coinage. No inscription or additional device is present. |
