| Reverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right in high relief, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, the cheek-guards raised. An ivy branch appears to the left of the head within the field. The entire design is set within a shallow square incuse punch, a hallmark of early Greek coinage technique typical of northwestern Greek mints of the early Classical period. The modelling of the facial features reflects the transition from the archaic to the early Classical style. |
