The facial features are rendered with exceptional naturalism characteristic of the finest Magna Graecian die-cutters of the late fifth century BC. The ethnic legend TEPINAION arcs gracefully around the field to the left of the portrait. The control letter Π appears in the field behind the neck, serving as a die-identification mark. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Nike, the winged goddess of victory, rendered in three-quarter view and seated left upon a cippus (funerary pillar), clad in a finely pleated chiton and himation draped over her lower body. Her extended right hand holds a wreath upon which a small bird perches with wings spread, while her left hand rests upon the surface of the cippus.
