Reverse description Two lions seated addorsed — back to back — with their heads turned to face outward, flanking a central caduceus or serpent-entwined staff in the field between them. The figures are rendered in a precise, archaic Lycian style within a beaded border. Lycian letters appear in the field to either side of the lions, reading TL-AWI, identifying the issuing city of Tlos. The overall composition is symmetrical and well-centred on the incuse square.
