Obverse description Pegasus in full flight to the left, rendered with vigorous naturalistic detail; the winged horse is depicted with forelegs extended and hindquarters raised, conveying dynamic motion. The large, finely articulated spread wings rise prominently above the body. A thunderbolt symbol appears beneath the creature in the lower field, serving as a type symbol associated with Zeus and Corinthian coinage tradition. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hammered South Italian fabric of the period.

Reverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing left, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head with the cheek-guards raised, revealing the goddess's facial features in fine relief. Flowing locks of hair emerge from beneath the helmet and curl around the neck and cheek. The legend ΛOKPΩN, identifying the issuing city of the Lokrians, is inscribed in Greek characters around the upper and left field. The portraiture reflects the refined artistic style of Magna Graecia coinage of the mid-fourth to early third century BC.
