The facial features are modeled with sensitivity, displaying the refined workmanship associated with Corinthian stater coinage of the early fourth century BC. In the field to the right, behind her head, appears a bucranium (ox skull), serving as a secondary symbol or magistrate's control mark. The reverse field is otherwise plain, and the coin is struck on a broad, slightly irregular flan consistent with hammered coinage of this period. |
