A small koppa (Ϙ), the archaic Greek letter serving as the mint control mark for Corinth, appears beneath the body of Pegasos in the lower field. The composition fills the flan dynamically, with the head and foreparts extending toward the upper left rim. The style reflects the accomplished die-cutting tradition of the Corinthian mint during this period. |

The goddess's hair falls in loose wavy locks beneath the helmet rim, framing her finely modelled profile with a straight nose and subtly parted lips. A small floral symbol, possibly an olive branch or flower, appears in the lower right field as an additional control mark. The shield boss of the helmet is rendered with bold relief, dominating the upper right quadrant of the flan. The workmanship is consistent with the high artistic standard of Corinthian stater production in the early fourth century BC. |
