Before the stag in the right field rises a slender sapling or young laurel shoot with delicate leaves. The retrograde ethnic legend ΚΑVΛ appears in the upper field. The entire design is set within a dotted border on a plain field, executed in incuse relief characteristic of Magna Graecia coinage of this period. |
