| Obverse description | Frontal enthroned effigy of Prince Sviatopolk Vladimirovich depicted in Byzantine imperial style, wearing a crown with pendilia and draped in princely robes. The figure holds a long cross-sceptre in the left hand and raises the right hand in a gesture of authority or blessing. A beaded inner border frames the design, with a partial Cyrillic legend distributed across the field reading СВЯТОПОЛКЪ НА СТОЛѢ ('Sviatopolk on the throne'). The crude but vigorous die-cutting reflects the early Rus hammered coinage tradition, closely imitating Byzantine iconographic conventions. Two test holes are visible on the flan. |
