| Obverse description | Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valentinian II facing right, portrayed as a youthful emperor. The elaborate pearl diadem adorns his head with prominent rosette ornaments, and the paludamentum is fastened at the shoulder. The effigy displays fine late Roman workmanship with carefully rendered hair and facial features. The surrounding legend is inscribed in Latin capital letters, divided by the bust, with a beaded border encircling the entire field. |
