She holds a long sceptre in her raised right hand and a globus in her extended left hand, symbolising Roman world dominion. Her feet rest upon the prow of a galley, an attribute evoking Constantinople's maritime supremacy. The legend CONCORDIA AVGGG encircles the design, and the mint mark CONOB appears in the exergue, indicating Constantinople and pure gold (obryzum). A beaded border frames the entire reverse field. |
