The emperor is depicted in military attire, with paludamentum fastened at the shoulder visible below the cuirass. The effigy is rendered in the late Roman imperial style, with bold and confident die-cutting characteristic of the Antioch mint. The circumferential Latin legend is divided by the bust and reads D N VALENTINI-ANVS P F AVG within a beaded border. |

The circumferential Latin legend RESTITVTOR-REIPVBLICAE frames the scene, and the mint mark •ANTA• appears in the exergue, identifying the first officina of the Antioch mint. |
