Theodosius holds a mappa in his right hand and a cruciform scepter in his left; a star appears in the upper field. The mint mark CONOB is inscribed in the exergue, denoting gold of the highest purity struck at Constantinople. The reverse legend is disposed in two registers flanking the imperial group. |
