| 表面の説明 | Helmeted and cuirassed frontal bust of Emperor Theodosius II, facing the viewer in three-quarter view, the helmet adorned in imperial military style. The emperor raises a spear over his right shoulder with his right hand, while his left shoulder bears a large round shield decorated in relief with a mounted horseman trampling a fallen enemy, a compositional motif emphasizing military dominance. The bust is rendered in the rigid, hieratic style characteristic of early fifth-century Byzantine imperial coinage. The obverse legend runs in two segments separated by the bust, enclosed within a beaded border. |

| 裏面の説明 | The enthroned personification of Constantinopolis is depicted facing, her head turned to the right, helmeted and robed in imperial fashion. In her right hand she holds a long sceptre, while her upturned left hand supports a small winged Victory standing on a globe and holding a wreath in her own right hand, emblematic of the city's divine protection and imperial triumph. Her right foot rests upon the prow of a ship, referencing Constantinople's maritime supremacy. A star appears in the left field. The reverse legend is divided by officina letter and closed by the mint mark CONOB in the exergue, all within a beaded border. |
