The surrounding circular legend, distributed within a beaded border, reads VICTOR PRINCI S I CON OB, referencing the victory of Prince Siconulf and the standard of Constantinople gold (OB for obryzum). The overall design closely imitates Byzantine solidus reverse types, reflecting the monetary conventions of southern Lombard principalities during the ninth century.
