| 裏面の説明 | A plain cross centered within a laurel wreath, the wreath rendered as a circular beaded or knotted band enclosing the cross motif. The cross, with equal-length arms, is set in the inner field, symbolizing Christian imperial authority. The surrounding legend MVNVS DIVINVM fills the outer field between the wreath and the coin's irregular edge, the lettering somewhat irregularly spaced owing to the hammered fabric of the flan. |

Louis I inherited the Frankish throne in 814 following Charlemagne's death and almost immediately convened the Council of Aachen, which set the tone for a reign far more ecclesiastically constrained than his father's. The bust-facing-right solidus type is closely associated with the earliest years of his sole rule, before the monetary reforms of 818 pushed imperial coinage toward more abstracted, cross-heavy designs. The type's narrow four-year window and relatively small surviving population across multiple reference corpora — Prou, Morrison, Gariel — suggest limited and geographically concentrated minting, most probably at the palace mint.
