| Obverse description | Frontal bust of the emperor Justinian II, facing, wearing an imperial crown adorned with a diadem and pendilia, draped in imperial paludamentum decorated with rows of beading and a jewelled collar. The effigy holds a globus cruciger in the right hand, rendered in the schematised, flat style characteristic of Lombard imitative coinage. The legend is disposed around the bust in two abbreviated segments separated by the figure. |

| Reverse description | A cross potent on steps occupies the centre of the field, with a globus at the base of the shaft, the whole design closely imitating Byzantine metropolitan reverse types. A Lombard monogram of Duke Gisulf II appears in the lower left field. The circular legend, read in segments around the cross, references the victory of the Augustus and includes the mint mark CONOB in the exergue, signifying Constantinople as the prototype mint, though the coin was struck at Benevento. |
