| Descrizione del rovescio | A long cross potent on base and three steps occupies the central field, serving as the principal reverse type emblematic of Byzantine imperial Christianity. Flanking the cross are two standing figures: to the left, the beardless Heraclius (younger brother of Constantine IV), and to the right, the smaller figure of Tiberius (another younger brother), both rendered frontally in the Byzantine hieratic style. Each figure wears a chlamys and a crown surmounted by a cross, and holds a globus cruciger in the right hand, denoting imperial co-rulership. The exergue bears the mint signature CONOB with the officina letter Θ (theta, denoting the ninth officina), and the reverse legend VICTORIA AVGЧ is placed in the upper field. The overall composition reflects the standard Constantinopolitan solidus reverse design of the Heraclian dynasty. |
