| Obverse description | Right-facing bearded bust of Emperor Avitus, adorned with a rosette diadem from which pendilia hang at the ear, draped in imperial paludamentum and wearing cuirass with decorative fibula at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the late Roman manner with stylized facial features and bold relief. The legend D N AVITVS PERP F AVG runs clockwise around the periphery in Latin capitals, divided across the field to either side of the portrait. |
