Obverse description Frontal helmeted bust of Emperor Anthemius facing three-quarters right, wearing an elaborately decorated cuirass with bead-and-reel ornamentation and a plumed helmet adorned with a diadem of pendilia. The emperor raises his right hand in a gesture of benediction, while his left arm bears a shield decorated with a horse-and-rider motif. The effigy is rendered in the late antique imperial tradition, with bold, stylized modeling characteristic of the Mediolanum mint. The encircling Latin legend reads D N ANTHEMI-VS PERPET AVG.
