| Beschrijving keerzijde | The personification of Constantinopolis is depicted enthroned and facing left, clad in military attire, holding a globus cruciger in her raised right hand and cradling a long scepter in her left arm, symbolising imperial authority and Christian sovereignty. A shield rests against the side of the throne, and a star appears in the left field. The reverse legend, arranged in the field and along the exergue, records the consular and imperial titulature. The mintmark COMOB in the exergue identifies the issue as struck at the Constantinople mint in fine gold, with OB denoting the obryzum standard of high purity. |
