| Descrizione del dritto | Pearl-diademed and draped bust of the Augusta Aelia Eudocia facing right, with nimbus encircling the head, lending an imperial and sacred character to the effigy. Above the bust, the Manus Dei — the divine Hand of God — descends from the upper field, a motif expressing celestial legitimacy and imperial favour. The obverse legend is disposed on either side of the portrait in Latin characters. The fine hammered workmanship typical of the Constantinopolitan mint is evident in the careful rendering of the diadem pearls and drapery folds. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The personification of Constantinopolis is depicted enthroned and facing left, clad in military attire, holding a globus cruciger in her raised right hand and cradling a long scepter in her left arm, symbolising imperial authority and Christian sovereignty. A shield rests against the side of the throne, and a star appears in the left field. The reverse legend, arranged in the field and along the exergue, records the consular and imperial titulature. The mintmark COMOB in the exergue identifies the issue as struck at the Constantinople mint in fine gold, with OB denoting the obryzum standard of high purity. |
