| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the conjoined initials F F (for Francesco Filiberto Ferrero Fieschi) in large Roman capital letters, flanked by a small rosette or floral ornament at centre between the two letters, with a second rosette placed below. A marquess's crown surmounts the monogram from above, serving as the principal heraldic device of the issuer. The design is stark and monumental, with no surrounding legend, reflecting the small module and hammered fabric typical of minor Italian States billon coinage of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. |

| Reverse description | A bold cross of Mauritian (crosslet) type occupies the full field, its four arms each terminating in a trefoil or club-shaped finial, forming a cross-crosslet appearance characteristic of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus. The cross is enclosed within a four-lobed (quadrilobe) cartouche, with a small roundel or pellet placed at each of the four inter-lobe angles. No surrounding legend is present. The design is rendered in the coarse, high-relief hammered style typical of small Italian feudal billon issues of the period. |
