| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central raised boss within a four-spoked wheel motif, framed by a concentric ring, occupying the centre of the flan. The spokes divide the inner field into four quadrants, each containing a pellet or wedge ornament. A circular legend in Latin characters surrounds the central device, reading VERICA COMMI F, identifying the issuer as Verica, son of Commios. The lettering is rendered in the bold, somewhat irregular style characteristic of late British Iron Age Celtic coinage. The overall composition is well-centred for a hammered issue of this period. |
