| Beschrijving keerzijde | A stylised Celtic horse prancing to the right occupies the upper register of the field, rendered in the abstract, fragmented manner characteristic of Late Iron Age British coinage. Below the horse, the abbreviated legend TASCIA — denoting the issuing ruler Tasciovanos — is inscribed in bold Latin letters. A horizontal line divides the lower field, beneath which additional decorative elements and flan texture are visible. The overall composition reflects the deconstructed equestrian motif ultimately derived from earlier Macedonian prototypes, here fully transformed into the curvilinear Celtic idiom. The flan is irregular and scalloped, consistent with hammered production at the Verlamion mint. |
