Obverse description Stylised Celtic head facing right, rendered in the characteristically abstract Iron Age manner. The hair is depicted as a series of bold, deeply incised cabled or rope-like ridges sweeping back from the brow across the crown, filling the field in a flowing, decorative arrangement. The facial features are reduced to schematic elements, consistent with Icenian artistic conventions. The overall design exhibits the confident abstraction typical of late British Celtic coinage.
